SEBI REGISTRATIONS

We provide advisory on following SEBI registrations:-

1. STOCK BROKER- A stock broker is a qualified, registered professional who buys and sells stocks and derivatives in the secondary market on behalf of their clients. All transactions carried out in the stock exchanges are done through brokers only.

Who can become a broker in India?

  • Any person (individual, a firm or a corporate) can become a broker of a stock exchange.
  • Individuals and partners/directors of firms/corporates/Individual/Partners/Directors must be at the age of 21 years minimum and they must be graduates atleast.
  • Should have a minimum of 2 years experience in an activity related to dealing in securities or as portfolio manager or as investment consultant or as a merchant banker or in financial services or treasury, broker, sub broker, dealer, authorised agent or authorised clerk or authorised representative of a recognised stock exchange.
  • A paid up equity capital of atleast Rs.30 lakhs is required for corporates.

2. PORTFOLIO MANAGER- A portfolio manager is a person who is pursuant to a contract with a client, advises or directs or undertakes on behalf of the client, the management of a portfolio of securities or the funds of the client. The portfolio manager is required to have a minimum net worth of Rs. 2 crore.

3. RESEARCH ANALYSTS- A SEBI registered research analyst prepare or publicize the content of the research report; makes 'buy/sell/hold' recommendation; or give price target; or offer an opinion concerning a public offer with respect to securities that are listed or to be listed in a stock exchange. In order to act as a research analyst one must obtain a license under SEBI.

4. INVESTMENT ADVISER- An investment adviser is a person (an individual or a firm) that is in the business of giving advice about securities to clients. To act as an investment adviser registration must be taken under SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.
